Speaking at the company's 2019 investor conference, Intel chief technology officer Dr. Murthy Renduchintala said the 10nm "Ice Lake" processor will begin mass production in June.
With the Ice Lake platform, he said, the 10-nm process and architecture innovation can be fully utilized. Compared with the previous generation of products, the wireless speed is expected to increase by about three times, video transcoding speed is expected to increase by two times, graphics performance is expected to increase by two times, and artificial intelligence (AI) performance is expected to increase by 2.5 to three times.
In addition, from 2019 to 2020, Intel plans to integrate its product portfolio to launch more 10nm products, such as client and server cpus, general-purpose gpus, Agilex FPGA product suite, AI reasoning processor "Nervana nnp-i", and 5G compatible network SoC "Snow Ridge".

The company also said it will try to design and optimize its peer products based on the 14nm process in order to move toward a 10nm process and effectively extend performance to reach the optimum state of the 10nm process.
At the same time, he said, Intel will for the first time provide updates to the group's process technology, which can be expanded twice, with an estimated 20% improvement in performance per watt and a fourfold reduction in design rule complexity.
According to the company, it is expected to launch new initiatives under the 'ngpu' in 2021.
