Paris - e2v Technologies has unveiled a new generation of highly sensitive image sensors based on Tracit Technologies(Soitec SA's new branch) circuit-layer transmission technology.
E2v said it was providing backlight capabilities for the mid-sized market for the first time. The technology, based on the two companies' technology, is said to improve the sensor's sensitivity compared to standard front-facing sensors.E2v noted that the company's sensors are suitable for the mid-sized professional image sensor market and complement the company's existing backlight capabilities for smaller markets such as aerospace and life sciences.
"We are really pleased to see that Tracit's circuit transmission technology combined with e2v's proven expertise enables the development of a new generation of e2v image sensors."Tracit Technologies founder and managing director Dr. Bernard Aspar pointed out in a statement. He added: "our technology is now ready for reliable mass production. The ability to move molded circuits onto new supports is a promising technology for improving device performance or achieving heterogeneous stacks of three-dimensional composites.
